This summer, in the frame of Culture Lab 2 program from the French Institute of Senegal, we have conducted a filmmaking workshop, and trained a group of talented young Senegalese cinematographers and filmmakers on the Direct Cinema approach and documentary filmmaking through our embodied filmmaking training “Technique Sensorielles en Cinema Direct” (Sensorial & Embodied Approach in Direct Cinema) at the French Institute of Saint Louis. This training, which our director Federico Varrasso has been delivering personally for a long time, is now part of our new training offer, including other courses for trainers and participatory techniques using audiovisual and photography.
